| Lexus Donates $5,000 to Local Charity Hope House, Inc. After Learning of Jim Hudson Lexus $10,000 Gift For Immediate Release
March 14, 2007 The new philanthropy program from Lexus, the Pursuit of Potential, is dedicated to supporting organizations that help children realize their potential and inspire them to make the world a better place. Hope House, Inc. of Augusta is one of the first charities that will receive funding from this program, with $5,000 designated for their Therapeutic Childcare program. The national philanthropy program was launched at the beginning of this year, and has already contributed to the Nashville Predators Foundation for Children and the St Jude Children’s Research hospital. The donation from Lexus matches a gift from local dealership Jim Hudson Lexus, bringing the total contribution to Hope House, Inc. to $10,000. Jim Hudson Lexus donated an additional $5,000, which was distributed among 5 other non-profit groups working in partnership with Hope House. Jim Hudson Lexus first became involved with Hope House this past Christmas, when two team members took an extensive tour through one of their facilities and learned about the support they offer to families in need. The employees encouraged their co-workers to help them make personal care baskets and stockings to donate. After this experience, the dealership decided to make a financial commitment to the charity, and Lexus joined as a Hope House supporter after hearing of the gift. The mission of Hope House, Inc. is to provide a multi-disciplinary, long-term treatment program for women and women with children who are trying to overcome the disease of addiction. Hope House serves 13 counties throughout the CSRA and is licensed and nationally accredited through the Council on Accreditation (COA). Families normally stay for one year, and following that they attend aftercare and family dynamics twice a week. The Jim Hudson Lexus and the Lexus Pursuit of Potential donations will provide support to the Hope House team in their efforts to address issues challenging the children as a result to their parents’ disease of addiction, including mental, emotional, physical and educational and social development. “ The Lexus Pursuit of Potential reflects our corporate philosophy,” explains Mike Brumm, Lexus Brand Manager for the Southern region. “This program enhances the generous contributions Lexus dealers are already making in their community.” ### |
