Augusta(GA)- Luxury dealership Jim Hudson Lexus created a popular community website www.volunteeraugusta.com, that has grown to be a source for local activities as well as volunteer information.
“By far the most utilized page of the site is the calendar,” notes Bill Gibbs, General Manager. “This is what people are asking for, and it’s a service we are happy to provide to the community.”
The calendar has recently added enhanced searching capabilities, so that events can be pulled by category: charity, professional, arts, sports and entertainment. These events are color-coded on the calendar.
The dealership has also purchased additional domain names to promote the calendar component of the site: www.augustagacalendar.com and www.csracalendar.com. These domains point directly to the calendar search page.
“We want to continuously grow the site, changing it with the ongoing needs of the community,” explains Angela Hillesland, Public Relations Manager for the dealership. “There are so many great events going on in our area; people just need a place to go to get that information.”
There is no charge for organizations who wish to promote events on the calendar. The website also offers a complimentary listing of web links and phone numbers on the Resources page.
