Augusta (GA)- Jim Hudson Lexus in Augusta has expanded their community website, www.VolunteerAugusta.com with a page that allows citizens and non-profit groups to offer recognition for people who provide exemplary volunteer service. The “Recognition” page has a form to submit information about an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the community. That person will receive a thank you letter and certificate from VolunteerAugusta.com and their name will be forwarded to local agencies for consideration of a future community service award. The new page also allows non-profit groups to submit a full press release when an award is given, to promote additional recognition for those individuals.
The VolunteerAugusta.com site was launched last fall in an effort to provide a service to the community with ongoing information about local events and ways to get involved. It features a comprehensive community calendar, a resource page with links and phone numbers, a listing of ongoing volunteer needs, and a way to sign up to get additional volunteer opportunity information. “We saw a need for this type of service and found it was a great way to give something back to the community,” notes Bill Gibbs, General Manager for Jim Hudson Lexus. “Many local organizations tell us that they appreciate having a way to reach citizens who want to get involved but may not know how to go about it.”
The Jim Hudson Lexus team manages the site and all submissions, updates the information, and serves as the liaison between non-profit groups and the potential volunteers.
